At AI BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, we believe AI should make businesses better for their customers, their staff and their communities. These are the principles we work by.
Transparency
- We explain in plain English how the AI in your solution works, which provider it uses and where your data goes.
- We recommend telling customers when they are dealing with an AI - a chatbot, voice agent or AI-written message - which is also becoming a legal requirement in the EU.
Human oversight
- A person stays responsible for important decisions - about people, money or anything hard to undo.
- AI agents we build have clear limits on what they can do alone, and a full log of what they did.
Fairness
- We can't guarantee that third-party AI models are free from bias, so we test for it and monitor it, especially where AI is involved in decisions about people such as recruitment.
- We help you meet your obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
Privacy and security
- We send AI only the data it needs, use pseudonymisation where we can, and use business-grade AI services with proper data processing agreements.
- We design against AI-specific risks such as prompt injection, and follow UK GDPR and ICO guidance.
Honesty about limitations
- AI makes mistakes. We build in checks, and we will tell you when AI isn't the right answer to a problem.
- We don't overstate what AI can do, and we are open about running costs.
Environmental impact
- AI uses significant energy. We choose the smallest model that does the job well, which is usually cheaper and uses far less energy too.
- We avoid using AI where a simpler solution works just as well.
Respect for people's work
- We don't use AI to imitate identifiable people, artists or brands, and we check AI-generated content before it is published.
- We see AI as a tool to support staff, and we help businesses be honest with their teams about how roles will change.
The rules are changing
Responsible AI is no longer just good practice - UK data protection law, the EU AI Act and regulators' guidance increasingly set out what businesses must do. Read our overview of AI Regulation in the UK.
